Subject: Brief Update

Thanks for all the wishes, Thoughts & Prayers,

As you might already know my latest MRI from last week was not good which accounts for the problems I have been having. I have been in scramble mode for a week so have been out of touch. Plans are being finalized and there seems to be local - Mayo - MD Anderson consensus to ADD the chemo cocktail PCV to the Avastin I am already taking, hopefully starting Friday. I have managed to avoid PCV for 9-1/2 years but it appears I can no longer put it off. It has a been the standard treatment for a long time. It has a long track record of efficacy but it has a lot of side effects, short and long term.

Branan, thanks so much for the Duke connection. Based on the consensus from the docs that know me already and the need to get going ASAP it did not make sense to tap another doc at this time.

It probably means limited or no big red wine or cheese for a while which is a real drag, so it will be only the good stuff when it is allowed. Party tonight & tomorrow night. I will settle for tumor shrinkage.n in place and am ready to go.

Adding to the tough time were the sad passings of three people in my circle from cancer in the past week, including an incredible and inspirational man Dr. Ron Dietzman. Ron was my Brother-In-Law Michael's Father. He was the rock & ice climbing version of a CCC cyclist.

As Jason my Tour of Hope coach used to bark at us over the mic: "It's Time to Light it UP!
