Subject: Holy Crud, Batman

I may finally be getting better after being sick for almost three weeks. I think this is the sickest I have been since I was a kid. My doctors are not positive of the source. Probably it has been several things. My fever is finally normal after peaking at 103.5 Tuesday night. I was so weak I couldn't stand by myself. I just started my third antibiotic since October 24th. Apparently this one is the heavy artillery (AMOX-CLAV). I still have complete confidence in my oncologist and internist and they have been working diligently together to get to the bottom of this. After umpteen chest x-rays, vials blood for CBCs, and other tests they believe I may have a bad sinus infection (would be my first) and bronchitis. I had blood cultures taken today to make sure it is not a blood infection. I just finished power washing my nasal passages. I really feel for those of you who fight these or allergies. I will spare you more details. Watch out for the Crud. There are apparently some nasty bugs going around. I think I found them all.

In the middle of this we took a four day trip to Disney World. It was really wonderful. Max loved it. I have listened to my doctor's advice to never go on rides until this trip. I thought it was an important family thing to go on Space Mountain. It just about killed me! I learned my lesson.

My white count was low for two weeks but has rebounded. Hopefully it will be strong enough tomorrow morning so I can get my third Avastin infusion. Does anybody know Avastin has these kinds of reaction often?
